Intrepid Pictures today announced Trina Wyatt has joined the company as COO/CFO and Anil Kurian has been promoted to Vice President of Development, effective immediately.
The announcement was made jointly today by Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans, co-founders of Intrepid. In her new position, Wyatt will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations and financial activities of the company, as well as strategic planning, business development, production finance, and management of the company’s senior credit facility with JPMorgan Chase. As VP of Development, Kurian will be responsible for sourcing, development and creative oversight of all feature film projects. Kurian will be instrumental in driving the company’s mandate to produce and finance 3-5 movies per year. Regarding the announcement, Macy said, “Trina brings a wealth of film and entrepreneurial experience to the company, and is a great addition to our team.” Evans added “Anil has been an essential part of Intrepid’s success since the company started. We are confident that with this new team in place, we are well positioned to expand the mandate of the company.”
During her 15 year career, Wyatt has consistently championed independent film. Serving as COO of Tribeca Entertainment for over six years, she was involved in the creation and oversight of the Tribeca Film Festival. Most recently, as COO of Withoutabox, Wyatt was instrumental in realizing its merger with IMDb/Amazon. Prior to this, she managed Film Independent, the largest non-profit organization dedicated to independent film, where she oversaw its restructuring, re-branding, and its annual productions: the Spirit Awards and the LA Film Festival. Kurian joined Intrepid upon its launch in December of 2005 from jk livin productions, Matthew McConaughey’s company. Prior to that he worked at both ICM and Endeavor and spent his college years interning for various production companies and TV shows, including THE SOPRANOS.
